Anti Wrinkle Injections

What is it?

Most often referred to as “Botox”, Anti-Wrinkle Injections are a popular treatment used to smooth lines and wrinkles in the upper face by relaxing the muscles for a ‘fresh faced’ appearance. Anti Wrinkle Injections are most often used to treat:

Frown lines
Forehead lines
Crows feet lines (around the eye-area)
Lines across the top lip
Bunny lines (across the nose)
The jawline and appearance the of neck (also known as a â€˜Nefertiti liftâ€™ to the platysma bands in the neck)
Gummy smile treatment
Jawline slimming
To reduce jaw clenching and teeth grinding

How does it work?

Botulinum toxin (often referred to as Botox) is a naturally developed protein made from Bacterium Clostridium Botulinum. The toxin works by blocking the progression of chemical messages sent from the nerve resulting in the contraction of muscles. As a result, the muscle remains in a resting state until the ‘messengers’ recover. It can take approximately eight-to-twelve weeks on average to return to normal – however many often report a prolonged result – making it one of the most popular aesthetic treatments.

What are the results?

Following the procedure, you will start to see an improvement in the treated area within two to three days – however the full results may take up to fourteen days.

We also always encourage our patients to book a follow appointment two to three weeks after your first appointment to ensure that the desired results have been achieved. In light of this, if a little more botox is required this will be injected with no additional charge.

Downtime and Aftercare

This treatment requires no downtime, allowing for you to immediately return to your normal routine. However, to achieve the best possible results, we advise that you keep the area clean and free from makeup and other beauty products for twenty four hours, as well as keeping upright and avoiding alcohol, exercise and heat for forty eight hours.
