Dermal Filler

Similar to our Lip Enhancement treatments, Dermal Filler is an injectable soft tissue filler which works to reduce the appearance of facial wrinkles in order to restore a smoother, more youthful appearance.

How does it work?

Dermal Filler is an injectable made from Hyaluronic Acid (HA)  – a safe and natural sugar based product.

Due to their nature, this type of facial filler is only temporary as the Hyaluronic Acid is eventually absorbed by the body and naturally breaks down. In light of this, most dermal fillers last around six to nine months – however this can vary depending on each client (and their lifestyle) along with which part of the face is injected with the product.

Prior to the treatment, a full and thorough consultation will be carried out by our trained nurse who will take the time to discuss your areas of concern, as well as advising the best way forward to achieve your desired results.

To which, in some cases multiple treatments may be advised based on your needs and requests in order to slowly and gradually increase the effectiveness as your safety is paramount to us.

Our Dermal Filler Advanced Treatments

Jaw and Chin Enhancement

Dermal Filler can be used to sculpt and contour the lower face, including the jaw and chin – resulting in a sharper and more structured appearance.

Depending on the look you desire to achieve, our trained nurse will use either an injectable or an advanced cannula method in order to achieve the best results.

We also have the ability to create a variety of results ranging from natural, to more masculine (for male patients), as well as anti-aging for those who may have lost facial volume or have loose, sagging skin. Injecting the chin with dermal fillers, can also give more structure to the overall facial profile.

Nasolabial Fold (Nose to Mouth)

Nasolabial Fold (or smile lines as they are often called by patients) using Dermal Filler treatment is a fantastic way to improve or soften the fine (or deep) lines around the nose and mouth.

As an alternative to surgery, the procedure includes dermal filler being injected to fill in the creases in the targeted areas to plump the skin – leaving you with a more youthful, softer appearance. The effects of the treatments are often visible immediately.

Smoker’s Lines

Smokers Lines are small lines that etch the lips and most often extend vertically (especially on the upper lip). They are also often first noticed when lipstick starts to ‘bleed’ out of the vermilion border (the border between the lip and adjacent skin) into the vertical fine lines around the mouth.

Regardless of their name, Smoker Lines do not necessarily mean they are caused from smoking – with them being caused by a physiological ageing which in general can cause lines and wrinkles, as well as the decrease of natural collagen.

As well as natural ageing, the effects of the sun can also develop and increase the appearance of lines around the lips. However, these lines are more likely to form in smokers due to the repeating pursing of the lips, with smoking also breaking down the produce of collagen – resulting in the appearance of wrinkles and the thinning of the skin.

In order to treat smoker’s lines, we would recommend dermal fillers – as they are the most effective non-surgical method available on the market. In comparison to some other dermal filler treatments, the procedure only involves a very small volume of the product being injected into precise locations along the lines and lip border.

Marionette Lines

Their is a number of factors that result in the appearance of Marionette Lines, including:

  • The natural ageing process – in which the skin loses elasticity.
  • The damaging effects of sun exposure.
  • Weight loss – which can cause creases and fine lines from the mouth to the chin.

As one of the most sought after treatments on the market, Dermal Fillers is one of the most effective treatments for marionette lines – working to thicken the skin, as well as adding structure (or support) in the lower face to improve the overall appearance.

In light of this, fillers not only help to improve these deep wrinkles, but they also restore and moisturise the skin in the area – by working to provide extra fullness to the area where wrinkles are most prominent. Using filler in this area also replaces lost volume and can also improve the appearance of the down turned mouth.

Cheek Enhancement

Cheek Enhancement is ideal for those individuals who would like to either add definition and contour to the cheeks, or for those who have noticed facial changes or loss of volume in that area – which often naturally occurs as we grow older.

In this instance, the injectable dermal fillers offer a quick and effective cheek enhancement by adding volume into the cheeks – resulting in a lifted and youthful appearance.

During the procedure, the filler will be carefully placed into the cheek area using a needle (or a cannula) in order to improve the fulness and definition of the cheekbone. It also provides immediate effects without the potential downtime and severe bruising from surgery.

Six Point Non-Surgical Lift

A Six Point Non-Surgical Lift is the act of strategically placing a dermal filler into the face in order to target the key areas of aging – making it possible to gently lift the entire face without the need for surgery.

It also works to restore the natural, curved contours of the face in a much more subtle and natural way – restoring the youth of the skin. The Six Point Lift can also be used to lift specific facial features depending on the aesthetic harmony of your face. It can also be used to lift:

  • The undereye area.
  • The jowl
  • The cheeks
  • Marionette lines
  • The Nasolabial folds
  • The curves of the mouth

As a bespoke treatment, we always recommend booking a consultation with our aesthetic nurse, Rachel to ensure that the lift is according to your needs and facial symmetry. We also use the most premium range of advanced dermal fillers to ensure a youthful and fresh result – which can last between eighteen to twenty four months.

Tear Trough

A tear trough is a deep crease between the lower eyelid and upper cheek which often appears due to genetics, the natural ageing process or due to having less fat in the mid-face/under eye area. On this occasion, the goal of the dermal filler is reduce the depth of a tear trough.

Due to its nature, the procedure must only be performed by a highly-skilled practitioner as the filler is injected into the area – resulting in the skin looking fuller and tighters, whilst reducing the appearance of the under eye hollows and the darkening of the skin.

As a nonsurgical method of facial rejuvenation, the procedure is often quick, effective and pain free – with natural-looking results being seen immediately. However, in some rare cases two frequent treatments are often advised depending on the loss of volume in this area.

Prior to your treatment, our trained aesthetics nurse will assess your needs, suitability and determine the most appropriate form of treatment. We will also be able to answer any questions you may have in regards to your skin concerns and provide you with personalised advice.

Rhinoplasty…coming soon to Fresh Faced Aesthetics!

Rhinoplasty is a non-surgical cosmetic procedure involving the injection of filler to sculpt, reshape and reduce the size of your nose – preventing the cost of surgery and a long recovery time.

Following a full consultation to ensure that you’re comfortable, our trained nurse will apply an anesthetic cream before carefully injecting the dermal filler into the skin.

Who is eligible for the procedure?

To ensure that your safety is paramount, you must want to/or have the following:

  • A slight unevenness/crook
  • A bump
  • A hook shaped nose
  • A small nose that needs to be built up
  • To achieve more contour, definition or shape
  • To have a tip
  • A wish to straighten your nose

We must note that a consultation is needed prior to the treatment to ensure that this is correct treatment as well as to discuss the associated risks.

Filler Dissolve/Removal

Lip Filler Dissolving is the act of quickly breaking down the dermal filler safely and comfortably by injecting a medicine called Hyaluronidase into the lips.

In recent years, we have seen a rise in patients coming to us who are unhappy with their filler treatments and seeking to have it removed – due to filler becoming accessible online and being injected by someone without a medical profession.

We must also note that whilst dermal filler injections come with risks, so does the removal treatment when using this particular enzyme. To which, although the filler will break down instantly this treatment must be carried out by a highly-skilled medical professional due to the risk of a severe allergic reaction.

Prior to the dissolving of the filler, a consultation, medical assessment and a patch test must be carried out. If the result of the patch test is clear, the filler can then be dissolved forty eight hours later should we feel it is safe to do so.
