What is the difference between Dermaroler and other Skin Rejuvenation Techniques?
In contrast to abrasive techniques (such as laser and fractional laser treatments), the Dermaroller stimulates new tissue formation – acting constructively and keeping the skin intact. The skin is pricked by the fine needles, encouraging the growth of new skin cells as the wound heals responsively. This technique also significantly improves facial scarring and skin texture.
How many treatments are required?
The length of the course of treatments is heavily reliant on the strength and type of therapy, to which you can find these listed below:
Collagen Induction Therapy: We recommend you start with three treatments with a minimum separation time of six to eight weeks between each one.
Scar Reduction Therapy: An average of three to five treatments are recommended. However, there you will see a significant improvement in the appearance of the skin following your first treatment. Our nurse will assess your skin during your complimentary consultation and we will tailor your course of treatments to suit your individual needs.
Downtime and Aftercare
Following your therapy, your skin will have a similar appearance to when moderate sunburn arsies and your skin may feel warm and tighter than usual. However, this is perfectly normal and will start to subside after one to two hours and will recover normally within the same day with only a slight hint of redness remaining till the following day.
Our fully-qualified nurse will also apply a nourishing cream after the procedure to help soothe and calm the skin – and we will also provide you with the adequate aftercare for at home use. You must also keep your skin clean for 24-48 hours after treatment and avoid applying any skincare products.
Medical Dermaroller Therapy must also only be carried out by trained medical practitioners.
